Prof. Aleksandr (Alex) Krasnok is an Assistant Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering at Florida International University (Miami), where he directs the Quantum Technology & Metamaterials (QTM) Lab. His work sits at the intersection of photonics, electromagnetics, and quantum engineering, including complex-frequency wave control, metamaterials/metasurfaces, and quantum interfaces for sensing, communications, and scalable quantum hardware. He previously served as Research Assistant Professor and Director of the Photonics Core Facility at the CUNY Advanced Science Research Center and as a Research Scientist at UT Austin. He has authored 200+ peer-reviewed publications and has received the FIU Top Scholar Award (2025) and the EurAAP Leopold B. Felsen Award (2024).
