Liza Y. Barnes is an Assistant Professor of Management at the LeBow College of Business at Drexel University. Her research investigates how organizations can foster physical, mental, and relational well-being at work-particularly for individuals navigating moments of personal or professional vulnerability. She studies how employees manage identity-related challenges, power dynamics, and major life transitions, with a focus on underrepresented or lower-power groups. At Drexel, she teaches organizational behavior at both the undergraduate and doctoral level.

Prior to joining Drexel, Dr. Barnes earned her PhD in Organizational Behavior from the University of Colorado Boulder. Prior to her academic career, she worked in healthcare technology and client operations.
