Amman, May 19 (Petra) -- Amman will host the sixth Arab Dialogue Workshop on Wednesday under the theme "Arab Energy Security Is the Key to Global Energy Security," amid mounting global focus on supply chain resilience, energy sovereignty and the transition toward sustainable energy systems.

The workshop is expected to bring together senior policymakers, energy experts and regional and international institutions to discuss the future of Arab energy integration and the geopolitical role of the region in securing global energy markets.

The event is organized by the Arab Renewable Energy Commission in partnership with the Royal Jordanian Geographic Center, the Regional Center for Space Science and Technology Education for Western Asia, the Center for Strategic Studies at the University of Jordan and the Jordan Renewable Energy Society.

Held under the patronage of Senate President Faisal Al-Fayez, the workshop will open discussions on the concept of Arab energy sovereignty as a pillar of economic stability, national security and long-term sustainable development.

Secretary-General of the Arab Renewable Energy Commission Mohammad Al-Taani said the region is entering a new phase in which energy security has become directly tied to geopolitical stability and economic resilience.

Al-Taani said Jordan has developed a strong renewable energy and regulatory framework that positions it as a regional model in areas including renewable energy generation, electric vehicles, energy storage and decentralized power systems.

The two-day workshop, scheduled for May 20-21, will include participants from Kuwait, Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Morocco and Ireland.

Organizers said discussions will focus on energy transition strategies, digital transformation in the energy sector, smart grids, storage technologies and decentralized systems designed to improve supply stability and reduce dependence on traditional energy imports.

The workshop is also expected to highlight the growing role of off-grid systems in strengthening energy independence, supporting water and food security and reducing pressure on conventional infrastructure networks.

Participants will additionally discuss how Arab energy integration can transform environmental and economic challenges into investment opportunities capable of generating green jobs and strengthening the region's position in the global clean energy market.
