Market Explosion in Pakistan’s South Waziristan Leaves Three Dead, Four Injured

(MENAFN) An explosion in northwestern Pakistan has killed three people and injured four others, according to reports citing police.

The blast occurred in a marketplace in Wana, the main town of South Waziristan near the Afghan border, and was caused by an improvised explosive device. Authorities said the attack appeared to target a vehicle belonging to the head of the Ahmedzai tribe, who was among those killed.

A senior police official confirmed the casualties and said the incident took place in a busy commercial area. Investigations are ongoing, and no group has claimed responsibility so far.

According to reports, South Waziristan remains a sensitive security zone with a history of militant activity, including its association with various armed networks operating in the region.
