Overnight Drone Strikes in Moscow Region Kill at Least Three People

(MENAFN) At least three people were killed during overnight drone attacks targeting parts of the Moscow region, according to reports released Sunday.

Regional Governor Andrei Vorobyov said a woman died in the city of Khimki after an unmanned aerial vehicle struck a private residence. He added that another individual was still trapped beneath the debris.

In a separate incident in the village of Pogorelki in the Mytishchi district, two men were killed after drone fragments hit a house that was under construction.

According to reports, another drone strike damaged an apartment building in the city of Istra and affected six homes in the village of Agrogorodok, where four people were reportedly injured.

The attacks followed another drone-related incident Saturday night near the Moscow Refinery, where several construction workers were wounded and four residential buildings sustained damage.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said preliminary information indicated that 12 people were injured in the refinery-area attack, while refinery operations continued without interruption.

He also stated that Russian air defense systems intercepted 120 Ukrainian drones over Moscow during the past 24 hours.
