Austin Police Arrest Three After Series of Shootings Leave Four Injured
(MENAFN) Authorities in Austin, Texas, confirmed on Sunday that three suspects have been taken into custody following a string of shootings that left four people injured.
The Austin Police Department said on the US social media platform X that the final suspect was detained by the Manor Police Department, completing the arrests of all individuals sought in connection with the case.
Police Chief Lisa Davis stated that the suspects are believed to be connected to at least 10 separate shooting incidents that took place between Saturday and Sunday. One victim suffered serious injuries, while three others sustained minor wounds.
Investigators said the attacks appeared to be random, with no confirmed motive identified so far. Most of the incidents occurred in South Austin, including at least two shootings directed at fire stations.
Police emphasized in a statement that the investigation remains active and urged residents to stay alert, noting that “APD asks that our community remain vigilant.”
Authorities later lifted a shelter-in-place order previously issued for parts of South Austin, although a separate order briefly remained in effect in the nearby Manor area during the search for the last suspect.
The Austin Fire Department reported that two of its stations were struck by gunfire in separate incidents late Saturday and Sunday morning. No firefighters were injured, and only minor property damage was reported.
