Zelenskyy Holds Talks with Swedish King in Lviv

(MENAFN) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy received Sweden's King Carl XVI Gustaf in the western city of Lviv on Friday, the presidential press service confirmed, marking a rare high-profile royal visit to wartime Ukraine.

The two leaders jointly laid flowers at the graves of Ukrainian soldiers killed in the ongoing conflict — a solemn and deeply personal tribute that underscored the visit's powerful symbolic significance amid continued hostilities across the country.

Zelenskyy expressed his nation's heartfelt appreciation for the gesture, saying Ukraine is "deeply grateful for this respect" paid by Gustaf during what remains an extraordinarily difficult period for the country.

"The memory of each and every one of them is very important to us," he wrote on X, the social media platform owned by U.S. entrepreneur Elon Musk.
