Almost 26,000 Ukrainian Armed Forces Personnel Undergo Advanced Training In Germany General Staff
“Over recent months, the Multinational Special Training Command (MN ST-C) has remained a key operational element in supporting the European Union Military Assistance Mission to Ukraine – EUMAM Ukraine, providing training to Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel based on battlefield needs and task-oriented objectives... Since the mission was launched in mid-2022, approximately 26,000 Ukrainian servicemen have been trained in Germany under the coordination of the Multinational Special Training Command. Training activities were conducted at more than 50 military and industrial training facilities across the country, reflecting the broad and modular structure of the training program,” the statement said.

In addition, specialized training formats and the preparation of staff officers strengthened leadership qualities, management capabilities, and operational planning skills. All branches of the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) provided personnel and experts, supported by highly motivated multinational instructors.
The Multinational Special Training Command continued to operate as a multinational headquarters. Of approximately 100 staff positions, about one-third are filled by personnel from 13 partner countries, highlighting the collective European commitment to supporting Ukraine.
The General Staff noted that training activities were continuously adapted in line with developments on the battlefield and lessons learned from the ongoing conflict, ensuring their relevance and effectiveness at all levels.
A defining feature of the Multinational Special Training Command's work is close operational feedback from Ukrainian servicemen. Firsthand information about battlefield conditions directly influenced the design and delivery of training programs. This allowed for rapid adjustment of training priorities, particularly in areas such as the use of unmanned aerial systems (UAS), tactical procedures, and the maintenance and operational readiness of weapons and military equipment in combat conditions. Training was consistently planned and conducted according to the principle of“adaptation to the mission.”
The General Staff emphasized that the Multinational Special Training Command demonstrates its ability to provide flexible, resilient, and operationally relevant training in support of Ukraine, continuously adapting to the dynamic security environment.
As Ukrinform reported, over four years more than 87,500 Ukrainian servicemen have undergone training as part of the European Union Military Assistance Mission to Ukraine - EUMAM Ukraine.
