Artemis II Crew Sets Record for Farthest Human Travel from Earth
(MENAFN) The astronauts aboard NASA’s Artemis II mission have become the farthest humans in history from Earth, according to reports.
NASA stated in a video post on the US social media platform X that the crew reached a peak distance of 252,752 miles (406,700 kilometers) from Earth, establishing a new human spaceflight milestone.
This distance surpasses the previous record set by the Apollo 13 mission in 1970 by roughly 4,102 miles.
Apollo 13, which launched in April 1970, had held the record for the farthest distance traveled by a human crew for over 50 years.
