Russia Confirms Intel Contacts with US

(MENAFN) Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) continues to maintain communication with the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, Russian intelligence chief Sergey Naryshkin confirmed on Wednesday. “Yes, we maintain contact with the Central Intelligence Agency, if you are referring to the Foreign Intelligence Service,” he said in an interview with state media.

On the situation in Ukraine, Naryshkin expressed skepticism toward President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s recent Easter ceasefire proposal, stating that Moscow has “no trust in Kyiv.” He urged Zelenskyy to “gather the remnants of his critical thinking” and accept Russia’s peace proposals, which he claimed would guarantee long-term stability.

Regarding the Middle East, Naryshkin said that Russia is consulting “with various countries, with the leadership of a number of states, regarding the settlement of the most severe crisis in the Middle East,” highlighting Moscow’s active diplomatic engagement in regional tensions, according to reports.
