Henning Melber (PhD) is also an associate of the Nordic Africa Institute, Uppsala/Sweden; senior research fellow with the Institute for Commonwealth Studies/School for Advanced Study, University of London; Professor Extraordinary at the Centre for Gender and Africa Studies/University of the Free State, Bloemfontein; and a director emeritus/senior advisor of the Dag Hammarskjöld Foundation, Uppsala/Sweden. He was the Van Zyl Slabbert Visiting Professor for sociology and political sciences at the University of Cape Town in October/November 2017 and the president of the European Association of Development Research and Training Institutes from 2017 to 2023.
