Abu Dhabi Confirms 6 Injured After Drone Intercepted In ICAD 2

Abu Dhabi authorities confirmed six people were injured after drones were intercepted in the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi (ICAD) area on Thursday afternoon.

The authorities in Abu Dhabi responded to an incident resulting from the fall of shrapnel at two sites in the ICAD 2 area, following the successful interception by air defences of a drone. The fall of shrapnels led to minor and moderate injuries among six Pakistani and Nepalese nationality.

 

 

Authorities in the UAE have repeatedly alerted residents with sirens during similar incidents and assured that booming sounds heard across the Emirates resulted from successful air defence interceptions. Relevant teams continue to monitor developments closely and are taking all necessary measures to ensure everyone's safety. The public is advised to rely only on official sources for accurate updates.

On March 4, the Ministry of Defence stated that since the start of the blatant Iranian aggression on February 28, the UAE air force and air defence forces have so far dealt with:

  • 189 ballistic missiles detected

     

    • 175 destroyed by UAE air defences

       

    • 13 fell into the sea

       

    • 1 fell on UAE territory

       

  • 941 Iranian drones detected

     

    • 876 intercepted by air defences

       

    • 65 fell within UAE territory

       

 

 

Furthermore, 8 cruise missiles were detected and destroyed, causing some collateral damage, and resulting in 3 fatalities of Pakistani, Nepalese, and Bangladeshi nationalities.

 

 

The Ministry said that the 78 injured were from the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, and Afghanistan.

 

 

The authorities urged the public to obtain information from official sources only, and to avoid circulating rumours or unverified information.
