Trump Signals High-Level Talks with Iran

(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump stated on Saturday that Iran is “seriously talking” with the United States, expressing optimism that the discussions could lead to “something that’s acceptable.”

Speaking to journalists aboard Air Force One, Trump commented on the situation when questioned about whether he had reached a final determination regarding Iran.

“Certainly, I can't tell you that, but we do have very big, powerful ships heading in that direction. I hope they negotiate something that's acceptable,” he said, indicating both diplomatic engagement and a visible military presence.

He went on to note that there are differing opinions about whether Tehran would agree to a negotiated outcome that meets US expectations, particularly regarding nuclear capabilities.

“Some people think that some people don’t make a negotiated deal that would be satisfactory with no nuclear weapons, and said they should do that, but I don’t know that they will. But they are talking to us, seriously talking to us,” Trump added, underscoring that dialogue between the two sides is actively underway.
