Minister Of Endowments Highlights Investment In Human Capital As Best Path Towards Sustainability
Doha, Qatar: The Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, HE Ghanem bin Shaheen Al Ghanem affirmed that institutional excellence is the outcome of sincere work, dedication in performance, and professionalism in assuming responsibility, stressing that investing in human capital is the optimal path to achieving leadership and institutional sustainability.
Speaking during the fourth edition of the Outstanding Employee Award Ceremony for 2025, held under the theme of leadership, His Excellency said that the ceremony reflects a bright stage of pride in national competencies whose efforts have contributed to elevating the ministry's performance and strengthening its noble mission.
His Excellency added that honouring outstanding employees is not an end in itself, but rather an affirmation of a deeply rooted culture embraced by the ministry, one that is founded on the belief that people are the essence of development.
Minister noted that the ceremony's theme reflected the ministry's work philosophy, which is based on quality performance, sound achievement, and a strong sense of responsibility. This, he said, aligns with the ministry's mandate in caring for mosques, promoting moderation and balance, strengthening Islamic values, and serving society through endowment and zakat channels.
For his part, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs HE Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al Thani affirmed that honouring a select group of outstanding employees embodies the ministry's firm belief that investing in people is the true foundation of development and sustainable institutional leadership, as emphasised by Qatar National Vision 2030 in its human development pillar.
His Excellency said that excellence is not measured solely by numbers, but by the positive impact an employee leaves in improving performance, enhancing services, and strengthening institutional efficiency. He pointed to the ministry's commitment to embedding a culture of excellence and innovation, and to reinforcing its institutional values based on moderation, professionalism, leadership, role modeling, partnership, and sustainability.
He added that the achievements of the honoured employees represent a collective asset added to the ministry's record of success, and serve as an inspiring example for other staff members to follow the path of excellence and dedication, emphasising that excellence will remain a steadfast approach and the secret to leadership.
In turn, Director of the Human Resources Department at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs Mohammed Hassan Al Malki said that organising the fourth edition of the Outstanding Employee Award Ceremony underscores the ministry's commitment to supporting competencies, embedding a culture of excellence, and motivating initiative and positive competition, thereby contributing to the creation of a motivating and sustainable work environment.
He noted that this year's ceremony, for the first time, included honoring distinguished senior staff in recognition of their rich professional careers and the expertise they have contributed to knowledge transfer and the consolidation of values of belonging and institutional responsibility. In addition, employees with disabilities were honored, reaffirming that excellence is achieved through determination and hard work.
The ceremony was attended by The President of the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau and Secretary-General of the National Planning Council, HE Dr. Abdulaziz bin Nasser bin Mubarak Al Khalifa was held as part of the ministry's commitment to fostering a culture of institutional excellence, promoting creativity and innovation, and motivating employees to continue contributing, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, particularly its first pillar on human development.
During the event, the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau was honoured with the supporting partner shield, in appreciation of its pivotal role in supporting administrative development, strengthening the system of institutional excellence and innovation, and advancing government performance in line with ambitious national directions.
The ceremony concluded with the honouring of outstanding employees across various job categories and administrative levels, in recognition of their distinguished contributions and positive impact on the institutional journey, conveying a clear message that excellence is a permanent approach and that leadership is built through teamwork, integrated roles, and continuous performance improvement.
