Min. Al-Roumi: Oil Innovates 4 Reinforces Youth Role In Developing Oil Sector


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Feb 2 (KUNA) -- The "Oil Innovates 4" Award has become one of the leading national initiatives reflecting the Ministry's approach to embracing innovation and reinforcing the role of youth as active partners in developing the oil sector and shaping its future, said Oil Minister Tareq Al-Roumi.
Speaking at the award ceremony honoring the winners and marking the conclusion of the fourth edition, Al-Roumi said the initiative comes within the framework of supporting young national talents and linking academic outputs with the needs of the oil sector.
He noted that the projects submitted by students from the College of Engineering and Petroleum at Kuwait University represent an advanced model of integration between academic knowledge and practical application through realistic solutions.
He affirmed that the Ministry will continue supporting and developing the award, building on its outcomes, studying the submitted projects, and directing them toward paths that serve the Ministry's objectives and help transform promising ideas into practical, implementable applications.
In turn, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil Sheikh Dr. Nimer Fahad Al-Malik Al-Sabah said that the award is an effective institutional tool for linking educational outputs with the needs of the oil sector and opening pathways for national competencies.
Sheikh Nimer added that the award is part of a clear vision to serve as an intellectual and applied platform for attracting ideas and transforming them into projects capable of development and contributing to addressing operational challenges facing the sector.
Meanwhile, Director of Public Relations and Petroleum Media at the Ministry, Sheikhah Tamather Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, said that this distinguished initiative opened the door for national talent projects to keep pace with rapid changes in the energy sector.
She added that since the award's launch, the Public Relations and Petroleum Media Department has been keen to develop its organizational and media framework in an integrated manner to present it as a professional platform combining scientific content with institutional organization. (end)
