Chinese firm unveils advanced rifle-wielding drone with record accuracy
(MENAFN) A major Chinese technology firm has successfully conducted a test of a new unmanned aerial vehicle equipped with a standard military rifle, demonstrating an exceptionally high level of shooting accuracy.
China has emerged in recent years as a global leader in drone innovation, with domestically developed civilian UAVs widely sold and used across international markets. The latest test highlights a growing focus on advanced military applications as well.
According to technical details released in a recent research publication, the armed UAV was developed in cooperation with a Chinese military special operations training institution. During testing, the drone hovered roughly ten meters above the ground while firing 20 individual rounds from a standard-issue assault rifle at a human-sized target positioned 100 meters away.
All shots reportedly struck the target, with half of the rounds landing within an 11 centimeter grouping, indicating a perfect hit rate during the trial.
Unlike comparable systems that rely on specially modified weapons, this drone is designed to carry an unaltered rifle already in service with the Chinese military. Researchers attributed the performance to enhanced stabilization technology, refined targeting algorithms, and a newly engineered weapon-mounting system.
Engineers also developed dedicated software that dynamically adjusts the firing angle by accounting for factors such as distance, wind conditions, and other variables. These calculations were refined through extensive computer simulations, contributing to the system’s precision.
