Trump Issues Warning to Iran

(MENAFN) President Donald Trump issued a stark warning Tuesday regarding potential executions of demonstrators in Iran, declaring Washington stands ready to unleash "very strong action" should Tehran proceed with reported death sentences.

"I haven't heard about the hanging. If they hang them, you're going to see some things ... We will take very strong action if they do such a thing," Trump told CBS News during a Tuesday interview.

When pressed about his strategic objectives concerning Iran, Trump responded bluntly: "The end game is to win. I like winning."

The president's remarks followed questions about a message he had shared on his platform Truth Social, where he wrote: "Help is on the way."

"Well, there's a lot of help on the way, and in different forms, including economic help ... We put Iran out of business with their nuclear capacity," Trump explained, referencing American military strikes that targeted Iranian nuclear infrastructure last June.

The president underscored the difficulty in verifying death tolls from Iran's civil unrest, stating: "Nobody's been able to give us accurate numbers about how many people they've killed."

"You know, if they want to have protests, that's one thing, when they start killing thousands of people, and now you're telling me about hanging, we'll see how that works out for them. It's not going to work out good," he added.

Urgent Evacuation Warning Issued
Fox News reported Monday—citing Iranian NGOs based in the United States and Norway—that relatives of detained protester Erfan Soltani received notification the 26-year-old faces imminent execution. The family was allegedly told the "sentenced to death" verdict would be implemented Wednesday.

The virtual US Embassy serving Iran issued an urgent advisory Tuesday instructing American citizens to evacuate immediately as nationwide turmoil intensifies.

"U.S. citizens should leave Iran now. Consider departing by land to Türkiye or Armenia, if safe to do so," the security alert stated, emphasizing that Americans should prepare to exit without governmental assistance.

Dual US-Iranian nationals must utilize Iranian passports for departure, the embassy noted, explaining that Iranian authorities refuse to acknowledge dual citizenship status and process such individuals exclusively as Iranian nationals.

"Showing a U.S. passport or demonstrating connections to the United States can be reason enough for Iranian authorities to detain someone," the warning concluded.
