UAE: Cook From Bangladesh, Emirati Govt Official Among Winners In Big Ticket Draw

Four winners took home a whopping Dh140,000 each in the latest Big Ticket 's The Big Win Contest. The winners, who are from the UAE, Jordan, India and Bangladesh, shared their reactions to the good news, as well as their plans for the future.

Participating since 2016

Malek Sewadeh is a 48-year-old banking professional from Jordan, living in Abu Dhabi since 2008. After hearing about Big Ticket from his friends, he decided to participate, starting in 2016 and buying a few tickets a year.

He said, "I was really shocked, as I never expected to win. I'm just so grateful for the opportunities that Big Ticket offers."

Sewadeh plans to share his winnings with his family. He also said that he will continue to participate in Big Ticket draws in the future, encouraging others to do the same.

Going on holiday

Abdulla Almheiri discovered Big Ticket through Instagram and started participating last year. The 39-year-old government HR director from Abu Dhabi has entered Big Ticket draws just three times so far.

“I am so happy because this win was completely unexpected, but it had made my day,” said Almheiri, who plans to enjoy a holiday with his wife with his prize money.

He also mentioned that he will continue to take part and shared that luck, along with the right numbers, plays an important role when taking part in the draw.

Winning away from home

Alauddin Shahjahan, a 30-year-old cook from Bangladesh, is celebrating his win after taking part in the draw for the past three years. Based in Abu Dhabi, Alauddin works far from his family, who continue to live in Bangladesh, making the win an especially meaningful moment for him.

He has been purchasing tickets every month as part of a group of 21 friends. Shahjahan said,“I was overwhelmed with happiness upon receiving the news. It was a truly joyful and emotional moment.”

While he is still considering how best to use the prize, Alauddin confirmed that he plans to continue purchasing Big Ticket entries.

Supporting family

Ibrahim Kutty, a 52-year-old accountant from Kerala, who has been a UAE resident since 1998, currently lives in Fujairah with his family. He first discovered Big Ticket online a decade ago and has been purchasing tickets consistently since then, either independently or alongside a group of close friends.

Kutty said,“I purchased this winning ticket with a group of 20 friends. When I received the news that we had been selected to visit the Big Ticket studio and take part in the Big Win Contest, I was extremely excited and happy. I've been purchasing tickets for many years, and hearing this news made all the effort worthwhile.”

He added that the cash prize will be divided equally among the group, with his personal share going towards supporting his family.

More draws in 2026

Big Ticket is kicking off 2026 in a big way, with 27 prizes up for grabs, including 6 guaranteed millionaires, in one of its most exciting January promotions yet.

At the heart of the January draw is a massive Dh20 million grand prize, giving one lucky winner the opportunity to begin the year as an instant multi‐millionaire. Five consolation prizes of Dh1 million each will also be awarded.

Four weekly E-Draws will each award Dh50,000 to four lucky winners each week. With winners announced throughout the month, customers can watch the E-Draws live at 11am on the Big Ticket YouTube channel and website, as new winners are revealed in real time.
