Micro RGB Tvs, Ultra-Thin Oleds, And Next-Gen Gaming Screens: Gadgets To Watch Out For At CES 2026

CES 2026 has opened with a familiar theme: bigger screens, smarter health tech, and a renewed push toward immersive experiences. Major brands like Samsung, LG, and ASUS among several others are using this year's show to flex advances in technology.

Samsung goes all-in on Micro RGB TVs

Samsung is doubling down on its bold Micro RGB bet at CES 2026. After debuting a jaw-dropping 115-inch Micro RGB TV last year with a $30,000 price tag, the company is now expanding the technology into a full lineup ranging from 55 inches all the way up to 115 inches.

Micro RGB sits somewhere between Mini LED and Micro LED. Instead of relying on white backlights, it uses microscopic red, green and blue LEDs, allowing for far more precise color control and smaller dimming zones. While it can't switch pixels on and off individually like OLED or Micro LED, Samsung claims major gains in brightness and color accuracy.

The new lineup's headline feature is Micro RGB Precision Colour 100, a VDE-certified standard promising 100 percent coverage of the BT.2020 HDR color space - essentially broadcast-monitor-level accuracy. Other highlights include the new Micro RGB AI Engine Pro for enhanced frame-by-frame processing, glare-free screen technology, and upgraded audio with Dolby Atmos and Adaptive Sound Pro. Pricing remains unannounced, but expectations are firmly in ultra-premium territory.

LG joins the Micro RGB race

Samsung won't be alone for long. LG has confirmed it will also showcase Micro RGB televisions at CES 2026, with 75-, 86- and 100-inch models planned for release next year. Pricing details are still under wraps, but given Samsung's earlier $30,000 benchmark, Micro RGB TVs from both brands are likely to sit at the very top of their respective lineups.

Withings Body Scan 2 targets longevity and metabolic health

Withings is back with a more ambitious health-focused smart scale. The $599.95 Body Scan 2 builds on the original's design with eight electrodes in the scale and four more in a retractable handle, enabling more accurate full-body readings than traditional foot-only smart scales.

The big upgrade is its new 90-second longevity assessment, which analyses more than 60 biomarkers across cardiovascular function, artery health, metabolic efficiency, glycemic regulation, and cellular health. Notably, Withings is pushing non-invasive metabolic tracking, using bioimpedance spectroscopy (BIS) and sweat analysis instead of blood tests, a significant shift in how at-home health monitoring could evolve.

Xreal makes AR glasses more affordable

Xreal is refreshing its entry-level AR glasses with the new Xreal One 1S, bringing modest but meaningful upgrades alongside a welcome price cut. The glasses now feature 1200p displays (up from 1080p), a slightly wider 52-degree field of view, 700 nits of brightness, and a taller 16:10 aspect ratio.

The concept remains the same: connect the glasses via USB-C to a phone, laptop, tablet, or console, and they simulate a massive virtual screen that can feel anywhere from 171 inches to nearly 500 inches, depending on viewing distance. Best of all, the price drops from $499 to $449, making Xreal's“personal cinema” pitch more accessible.

ASUS ROG pushes OLED gaming displays forward

ASUS Republic of Gamers arrived at CES 2026 with a new lineup of QD-OLED and Tandem OLED gaming monitors aimed squarely at visual clarity. The standout is RGB Stripe Pixel OLED technology, designed to reduce color fringing and improve text sharpness.

ROG also introduced BlackShield film, which boosts perceived black levels while improving panel durability and scratch resistance. ASUS continues to lean into its dominance in the OLED monitor space, positioning these displays as premium options for competitive and enthusiast gamers alike.

LG revives its iconic Wallpaper TV

One of CES 2026's biggest surprises came from LG, which announced the return of its ultra-thin Wallpaper TV, last seen in 2019. The new W6 model is just 9mm thick and mounts completely flush against the wall using a redesigned bracket.

The W6 uses LG's Zero Connect Box, meaning no visible cables run to the TV (aside from power), with the box capable of being placed up to 10 meters away. It also debuts Hyper Radiant Color Technology, Brightness Booster Ultra, and claims the lowest reflectance of any LG TV to date - earning Intertek's Reflection Free with Premium certification.

The W6 supports up to a 165Hz refresh rate, AMD FreeSync Premium, Nvidia G-Sync compatibility, and LG's Gallery+ art display service. It will be available in 77- and 83-inch sizes, with peak brightness figures yet to be revealed.

With CES 2026 running until January 9 in Las Vegas, we can expect many exciting announcements in the coming days.
