Father And Manager Of Singer Selena Passed Away: Abraham Quintanilla -

(MENAFN- Newsroom Panama) Selena's father and manager, Abraham Quintanilla, passed away at the age of 86, according to an announcement by his son, AB Quintanilla III. “It is with great sadness that I inform you that my father passed away today.” the musician posted on his Instagram account. Quintanilla, who was also a musician, formed 'Selena y Los Dinos', a family band that also included her other children, AB and Suzette Quintanilla, and which achieved great success in the late 1980s.

In 1995, Selena was murdered at the age of 23 by Yolanda Saldívar, former president of the artist's fan club.

Quintanilla was executive producer of the biographical film 'Selena' (1997), in which he was portrayed by Edward James Olmos and his daughter by Jennifer Lopez; while in the 2020 Netflix miniseries 'Selena: The Series', Quintanilla was portrayed by Ricardo Chavira.
