Türkiye Supports Syria’s Reconstruction, Backs Palestinian Freedom
(MENAFN) Türkiye has expressed satisfaction at witnessing the Syrian people endeavoring to restore their nation despite numerous challenges. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated on Tuesday that the successful execution of Syria's March 10 agreement will undermine the ambitions of malign actors seeking to exploit a weak, fractured, and unstable Syria.
“We are pleased to see Syrian people striving to rebuild their country over the past year despite all the hardships, and the devastation left by the Assad dictatorship,” Erdogan remarked during his speech at the Human Rights Day ceremony in Ankara.
He highlighted that Türkiye, along with its citizens, wholeheartedly backs Syria and its people in their pursuit of reconstruction, recovery, and rebuilding through every available means.
The Turkish leader further affirmed that the oppressed population in Palestine “will see their patience crowned with victory, and freedom and peace will come with a sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.”
The March 10 agreement, announced by the Syrian presidency, proposed incorporating the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)—dominated by the YPG/PKK terror group—into Syria’s governmental structure. The accord emphasized maintaining the nation’s territorial integrity while rejecting any separatist initiatives.
