Arab League Chief Condemns Israeli Occupation's Raid On UNRWA's Jerusalem Headquarters

CAIRO, Dec 9 (KUNA) -- Secretary General of the Arab League Ahmad Abul-Gheit condemned on Tuesday the Israeli occupation's raid and assault on the Jerusalem headquarters of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), deeming it a heinous act.
In a statement, Abul-Gheit said that the assault aimed at hindering the honorable role of UNRWA, calling the excuses by the Israeli occupation illegal and baseless.
The attack unsurprisingly came days after the UNGA voted to extend UNRWA's mission for three additional years, he indicated.
Yesterday, Israeli occupation forces raided the headquarters in occupied Jerusalem and carried out several violations, including the lifting of the occupation's flag over the building. (end)
