Belgian FM Regrets Israeli Occupation Police Raid On A UN Facility In East Jerusalem

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BRUSSEL, Dec 8 (KUNA) -- Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot expressed on Monday his deep regret over the forcible entry of Israeli occupation police officers and municipal officials into one of the United Nations premises in East Jerusalem.
He has stressed that the inviolability of UN buildings is "protected and guaranteed under international law."
In a post on X, the minister said that the incident comes only a few days after an overwhelming majority of UN General Assembly member states voted in favor of renewing the mandate of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), emphasizing that the agencyآ's mission is "clear and well-defined."
He added: "The United Nations is not a terrorist organization." It provides assistance to people. It is our responsibility to support it and encourage it to continue doing so." (end)
