IRENA At COP30: New Report Shows Accelerated Energy Transition Can Increase South America's GDP
The report shows global renewable capacity additions reached an unprecedented 582 GW. Yet this is not enough to stay on track to achieve the COP28 UAE Consensus target of tripling renewables to 11.2 TW by 2030. To reach this goal, renewable capacity must now expand by 16.6 percent per year from 2025 onward through the end of the decade.
