Saudi Ministry of Health and Lean Business Services Launch Advanced AI Health Coach in "Sehaty" National App, Built with Google Cloud's AI
(MENAFN- Weber Shandwick) RIYADH, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, 28 October 2025: In a pioneering move to accelerate digital transformation in the healthcare sector, the Saudi Ministry of Health (MoH) today announced a strategic partnership with Lean Business Services. This collaboration will deploy Google Cloud’s cutting-edge generative AI solutions across the national digital health ecosystem, through the official “Sehaty" application.
The announcement was made during the Global Health Exhibition in Riyadh, marking a step toward realizing the preventative health goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
His Excellency, Fahad bin Abdulrahman AlJalajel, the Minister of Health for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia said: “A new step in our journey toward a preventive, integrated and people-centered model of care. Through our partnership with Google Cloud and Lean we’re introducing an intelligent health coach securely linked to patients’ medical profiles to enhance access to services. As we shift from treatment to prevention, we’re empowering doctors with better tools, patients with greater knowledge and everyone with personalized health guidance.”
Tara Brady, President, Europe, Middle East, and Africa, Google Cloud said: “We are honored to partner with the Ministry of Health and Lean to deploy Google Cloud’s enterprise-grade AI capabilities that are designed for security and precision. This partnership is a testament to the Kingdom's leadership in technology adoption, proving that AI can transform clinical workflows, drive proactive patient care, and set a new global benchmark for public health innovation.”
Mohanned Al Rasheed, CEO of Lean Business Services, said: “Our role ensures the compliant and secure integration of Google Cloud’s AI capabilities within the Sehaty and RAQEEM ecosystems. We utilize the Gemini models for their processing, transcription, and summarization functionality. We are pioneering transformative solutions that tangibly empower healthcare providers, ensuring every citizen receives world-class care while patient data remains governed and owned by the Ministry of Health.”
Transforming Citizen Care with Gemini
The collaboration’s most immediate impact will be the utilization of multimodal API capabilities, through Gemini model use on Vertex AI, to bolster the Sehaty national health application. This will transform the user experience to enable live voice and video interactions within the new Sehaty chatbot interface, offering reliable, instant initial health guidance.
Ensuring Data Confidentiality and Trust
Google Cloud’s approach to data governance and privacy policies are designed for its customers to retain control over their data. In healthcare settings, access and use of patient data is protected through the implementation of Google Cloud’s reliable infrastructure and secure data storage that support compliance such as Class C licence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, along with each customer’s security, privacy controls, and processes. In Saudi Arabia, patient data remains governed and owned entirely by the Ministry of Health.
The platform operates within the Kingdom’s data residency and Class C license compliance, ensuring privacy, security, and sovereignty over all national health data.
Driving Digital Healthcare Leadership
This initiative underscores the Ministry of Health’s commitment to Saudi Vision 2030’s digital transformation mandate. By combining the Ministry's national reach with Google Cloud’s expertise in security, data, and generative AI, the collaboration sets a new benchmark for utilizing advanced technology in public healthcare across the region, reinforcing the Kingdom's leadership in elevating national health services.
