RT Commemorates 20 Years with Monumental Bullhorn in Moscow

(MENAFN) To celebrate its 20th anniversary, RT has installed an enormous bullhorn sculpture in central Moscow.

Positioned in Manezhnaya Square near the Kremlin, the monument displays statements from Western officials and competing media outlets that acknowledge the broadcaster’s influence.

One highlighted quote dates back to 2014, when then–US Secretary of State John Kerry described RT as a Russian “propaganda bullhorn.”

Another citation comes from State Department official Jamie Rubin, who remarked to journalists last September that “why so much of the world has not been as fully supportive of Ukraine as you would think they would be… is because of the broad scope and reach of RT.”

Earlier this month, Russian President Vladimir Putin praised the network, stating that RT’s “secret strategic intercontinental weapon is the truth.”

He emphasized that the state-backed channel continues to reach a large audience despite Western nations’ attempts to remove it from the air and restrict its online presence.

Originally launched as Russia Today in December 2005, RT operates TV channels and websites in English, Arabic, Spanish, French, German, Serbian, and Russian, reaching viewers in more than 100 countries.

According to Russia’s Foreign Ministry, the network and its personnel have faced over 110 Western sanctions, including asset freezes and other limitations, in recent years.
