Amazon Plans Investing in Netherlands

(MENAFN) US technology and e-commerce powerhouse Amazon revealed on Monday its intention to invest more than €1.4 billion (approximately $1.6 billion) in the Netherlands over the coming three years.

"It underlines the company's confidence in the Netherlands and continues Amazon’s commitment to innovation and providing an even better experience to customers through low prices, selection, and convenience, while helping small businesses in the Netherlands succeed," Amazon stated in an official announcement.

The firm highlighted that this investment marks its largest financial dedication to the Netherlands since its launch in 2020.

The funds will support both Amazon Web Services and the company’s retail operations, aiding infrastructure expansion and assisting small and medium-sized enterprises in extending their reach to customers within the Netherlands and globally, according to the statement.
Currently, Amazon employs more than 1,000 people in the Netherlands.

In a related development, Amazon disclosed in early October that it would invest $1.16 billion in its operations in Belgium.
