(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Oct 27 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) on Monday launched a new package of electronic services in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, represented by the General Department of Traffic, to streamline procedures related to commercial activities under the Interior Ministry's jurisdiction.
Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Marwa Al-Juaidan told KUNA that the new services come within the ministry's efforts to enhance digital transformation and simplify business procedures.
Al-Juaidan explained that the initiative includes the "Smart License" project, which aims to unify government procedures and facilitate services for business owners through a single electronic platform, enabling instant electronic verification of business data and security approvals without the need for paper documents.
The Smart License, issued with a single barcode, will consolidate all related approvals and procedures, reducing paperwork and ensuring full electronic documentation.
She noted that this launch marks an advanced phase in the government's digital transformation project, contributing to greater procedural efficiency and improved user experience.
She affirmed ongoing institutional cooperation between MoCI and the Ministry of Interior to ensure smooth processing of commercial activities supervised by the General Directorate of Traffic, expressing appreciation for the Interior Ministry's cooperation in implementing this joint effort. (end)
