AI Robot Dogs Shine at Dubai’s GITEX Global Exhibition

(MENAFN) Artificial intelligence-driven robot dogs developed by the China-based company DEEP Robotics captured significant attention at the 45th GITEX Global technology event held in Dubai, distinguishing themselves from other AI innovations on display.

Maksim Hao, the regional sales manager of DEEP Robotics, shared with a news agency that these robotic dogs were designed to substitute human workers in dangerous and risky environments.

Currently, these robots are actively deployed in various fields such as emergency response and support for security personnel.

According to Hao, DEEP Robotics’ creations are operational across multiple regions, including North America, Europe, and Türkiye.

He emphasized that robot dogs offer greater practicality and dependability compared to humanoid robots, which generally serve social or exhibition purposes rather than functional roles.

Hao explained that humanoid robots mostly engage in social interactions like greeting people and shaking hands but fall short as genuine human substitutes.

In contrast, he pointed out that robot dogs, empowered by AI, autonomously interact with humans and their surroundings, mapping out their routes and routines to efficiently accomplish assigned tasks.

“We use AI in robot dogs for movement control and perception — they can detect obstacles and avoid them, but in the future, they will interact with the environment and make decisions on their own,” Hao said.

He added that the scope of applications for robot dogs is expected to broaden, including delivery and marketing sectors, noting their current use for deliveries in China.
