For the position of Chief Minister, four candidates were in the race; Sohail Afridi from PTI, Sardar Shah Jehan from PML-N, Arbab Zarak from PPP, and Maulana Lutf-ur-Rehman from JUI-F. However, Afridi secured a decisive victory owing to PTI's clear majority in the provincial assembly.
