
38 Projects Launched In Five Districts Along Durand Line
KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Construction work on 38 projects worth 120 million afghanis has been launched in five districts along the Durand Line in southeastern Khost province, the Ministry of Borders and Tribal Affairs said on Tuesday.
These construction projects have been launched in Zazai Maidan, Alisher, Gurbaz, Tani and Spera and will be completed in the next five months, according to officials.
Deputy Border Inspector of the Ministry of Borders and Tribal Affairs, Maulvi Mohammad Ismail Ghaznavi, told Pajhwok Afghan News that these projects included the construction of schools, religious seminaries, mosques, clean drinking water supply networks and canals.
He said work on the projects had been started in seven provinces along the Durand Line and today they were inaugurated in Khost.“Later, these projects will also reach the official borders and provide border services to the deprived people.”
Meanwhile, Deputy Governor of Khost, Maulvi Mahboob Shah Qanet, told Pajhwok that several construction projects were currently underway in the province under the framework of various government agencies.
He said they were trying to execute construction projects in all remote and deprived areas of Khost.
“With the return of the Islamic Emirate, more services have been provided in Khost province than in other provinces and still some projects are ongoing the city and its surrounding districts, where many development projects have been implemented in a short time.”
On the other hand, residents of the districts near the Durand Line, expressed happiness with the start of the construction projects and more work was needed in other areas.
Noor Mohammad, a resident of Gurbaz district, told Pajhwok:“The roads and canals in our area are all destroyed, and so far, nothing has been done for us that we can mention.”
Another resident of the district, Shakirullah, said:“We have requested the government to implement more such projects in our area, because nothing has been done for us in the past.”
According to information, Khost, Paktia, Paktika, Logar, Nangarhar, Kunar and Nuristan are the provinces where various construction projects are being implemented by the Ministry of Borders and Tribal Affairs in areas near the Durand Line.
