Trump does not like his picture on Time’s cover
(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump has criticized TIME magazine’s latest cover accompanying a story that praised his efforts in brokering a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
The magazine’s Monday edition highlighted the Gaza truce as Trump’s “triumph,” using a low-angle portrait of him. While acknowledging that the article itself was “relatively good,” Trump took to Truth Social early Tuesday to attack the cover, calling it “may be the Worst of All Time.”
“They ‘disappeared’ my hair, and then had something floating on top of my head that looked like a floating crown, but an extremely small one. Really weird!” he wrote.
Trump has frequently accused US media outlets of biased coverage, arguing that much of the reporting focuses unfairly on criticisms of his presidency.
The ceasefire, endorsed at an international conference in Egypt on Monday, was intended to halt the violence that erupted after Hamas’s October 7, 2023, incursion into southern Israel.
Since returning to office in January, Trump has repeatedly suggested that his foreign policy achievements warrant a Nobel Peace Prize. However, the prize this year was awarded to Venezuelan opposition politician Maria Corina Machado.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has described Trump’s peace efforts as genuine and significant, expressing hope that US mediation might ultimately aid in resolving the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Moscow maintains that Kiev’s rigid approach, supported by European NATO countries, continues to be the primary barrier to a settlement.
