Run Jordan Announces Road Closures and Traffic Diversions in Amman on Friday, October 17, in Conjunction with the Bromine Amman Marathon


(MENAFN- Yahoo) (Amman – October) Run Jordan, in cooperation with the Traffic Department of the Public Security Directorate, announced the detailed plan for road closures and traffic detours across the capital Amman, in conjunction with the Bromine Amman Marathon taking place on Friday, October 17, 2025.
According to the Traffic Department and Run Jordan, the roads will be closed from the New Raghadan Complex – Al-Jaysh Street in both directions, then through the Hashemite Square area, Quraish Street, Ali bin Abi Talib Street, up to the Al-Muhajireen Traffic Lights, and then to Omar Matar Street, King Talal Street, and Al-Hashmi Street, entirely from midnight until 12 PM, covering the 42 km (individual/relay) race route and the 21 km race.
Queen Alia Street will be completely closed between the Sports City Roundabout and the Al Dakhleyeh Roundabout, as well as Queen Noor Street between Al Dakhleyeh Roundabout and the Fourth Circle. Additionally, Uqba Bin Nafi Street, Princess Basma Street, Ali bin Abi Talib Street, and Quraish Street will be entirely closed up to the Hashemite Square area from 6 AM to 12 PM, within the 10 km race, which starts at 9 AM.
Run Jordan confirmed that these closures are being implemented in full coordination with the Traffic Department to ensure smooth traffic flow and provide alternative routes for residents to access Downtown Amman and West Amman. The Public Security Directorate will be on-site along the race routes to guide drivers, ensure compliance with traffic instructions, and provide assistance when needed.
Run Jordan confirmed that all preparations for the traffic plan have been finalized, ensuring smooth flow on race day with alternative routes and comprehensive safety measures in place, as part of the comprehensive preparations for the Bromine Amman Marathon, which brings together a large number of local and international runners from various age groups.
In this regard, Ms. Lina El Kurd, the General Manager of Run Jordan, emphasized that the coordination with the Public Security Directorate, represented by the Traffic Department, reflects the shared commitment to ensuring the marathon’s success and upholding the highest organizational and safety standards. She highlighted that the traffic plan was designed to guarantee the safety of participants and citizens, while maintaining smooth traffic movement throughout the capital.
Ms. El Kurd also added that the Bromine Amman Marathon has become a national sporting event that strengthens Jordan’s position as a distinguished sports and tourism destination, while promoting the values of sportsmanship, healthy lifestyles, and teamwork that Run Jordan strives to instill across the community.
