
Al Markhiya Gallery, Hessa For Arts To Open 'Yawm Al-Saad' Exhibition At Fire Station
Doha: Al Markhiya Gallery, and Hessa for Arts, are set to open the group exhibition“Yawm Al-Saad” (Day of Joy) next Tuesday at the Fire Station: Artist in Residence.
The exhibition displays works by a diverse group of Qatari and Arab artists residing in Qatar, including: Ahmed Al Haddad, Ahmed Al Subaie, Hameed Al Qahtani, Talal Al Qasimi, Mubarak Al Malik, Aisha Al Ali, Munira Al Meer, Ruqaya Al Mohannadi, Haifa Al Khuzai, Reema Abu Hassan, Roua Ounssa, Sara Atef Abdullah, Lina Lutfi, Noora Al Melhim, and Wasfi Al Hadidi.
The participating artists present a collection of ceramic works that draw inspiration from the past, reinterpreting traditional elements through a contemporary artistic lens.
“Yawm Al-Saad” celebrates the richness of popular aesthetics and transforms elements of heritage into creative expressions that bridge authenticity with modern visual language. Traditional wedding tools and symbols are reimagined as modern ceramic artworks, creating a visual dialogue between past and present.
