EU Set to Increase Financial Support for Ukraine This Winter

(MENAFN) Visiting EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas revealed on Monday that the European Union is set to increase its financial support for Ukraine this winter, according to the Interfax-Ukraine news agency.

“The EU has already mobilized 800 million euros (about 926 million U.S. dollars) to support Ukraine this winter. We are working to allocate an additional 100 million euros (about 115 million dollars),” Kallas announced during a joint press briefing alongside Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.

She specified that the new funding will be directed towards supplying generators, shelters, and weather protection gear.

Kallas arrived in Kyiv earlier Monday to engage in talks focused on the security of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and other critical matters.
