Trump refuses to reveal decision on supplying Ukraine with Tomahawks

(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump stated Monday that he has already made a decision regarding the potential supply of long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, though he declined to disclose the specifics of that decision.

“I’ve sort of made a decision on that. I would have to ask the question where are they sending them,” Trump told reporters at the White House. “I’m not looking to see escalation,” he added.

Last month, Vice President J.D. Vance indicated that the administration was considering sending Tomahawk missiles to Kiev. Each missile is estimated to cost around $1.3 million and has a range of 2,500 kilometers (1,550 miles), meaning it could reach Moscow and other distant targets.

Russian President Vladimir Putin subsequently warned that such a move would severely damage US-Russia relations, and argued that Ukrainian forces would be incapable of operating the complex missile system without “direct participation of American military personnel.”

According to reports citing anonymous sources, the US is considered unlikely to provide Tomahawks to Ukraine, as current inventories are allocated for the Navy and other domestic uses. Some advisors within Trump’s inner circle have also expressed skepticism regarding whether the missiles would significantly alter battlefield outcomes.
