A World Of Culture And Creativity Awaits Mohammed Bin Rashid Library Visitors In October


  • Hosting the second edition of Dubai International Library and Publishing Summit 2025
  • Organising an art exhibition and panel discussion in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center
  • Kuwaiti Literary Evening with writer Taleb Al-Refai

Dubai, UAE, 1 October 2025: The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library announced its October program, featuring a range of cultural and creative events catering to the diverse interests of the community, combining arts, literature, and sciences.

The program will kick off with an exceptional cultural evening titled Al-Mutanabbi: Between the Genius of the Word and the Creativity of the Brush, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center. The event will feature an art exhibition by Iraqi artist Dr. Mahmoud Shubbar, with 26 paintings inspired by the book The Marvels Revealed in Al-Mutanabbi's Inventions and Wonders by Dr. Ali bin Tamim. The exhibition will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Suleiman Al-Hattlan, blending literary text with visual imagination, offering a new perspective on Al-Mutanabbi through the fusion of intellect and art.

The library will also host a literary session with writer Taleb Al-Refai to discuss his latest novel Dokhi: Melodies of Youth. The novel delves into the life of Kuwaiti singer Awadh Al-Dokhi, and takes readers on a journey into memory and storytelling in a rich Kuwaiti literary evening, moderated by Mr. Abdul Hamid Ahmed.

In celebration of World Mental Health Day, the library will organise a lecture and panel discussion titled Balanced Work Environments… Productive Minds, presented by Dr. Ahmed Al Nuaimi. The session will highlight the importance of integrating mental health into the workplace, its impact on performance and creativity, and will provide practical tools to create healthy and supportive workspaces.

Furthermore, film enthusiasts can look forward to a special cinematic evening as part of Cineolio Nights, featuring four short films from Mexico, Bangladesh, the United States, and Russia. This global cinematic experience will highlight diverse and compelling stories, including:  The Cats (9', 2016, Mexico), directed by Alejandro Rio; Once Upon a Time in Wari Bateshwar (15', 2025, Bangladesh), directed by Rajib Rafi; The Sea Runs High, One (13', 2021, Russia), directed by Evgeniya Korchagina; and Shadow (12', 2024, US), directed by Kamell Allaway.

October in the library will also feature an interactive workshop for children titled The Universe Has Another Face… We See it With Our Hearts, by Hanan Al Marzooqi. The workshop aims to nurture empathy and understanding through storytelling and interactive art activities.

In celebration of World Day for Audiovisual Heritage, the library will offer Indian folklore performances, in collaboration with Thirkan Dance & Music Academy and live accordion music. The library will also hold an interactive artistic evening titled Colors and Harmony: A Dialogue of the Arts, by researcher and music composer Peter Nehme, exploring the connection between music and abstract art through an immersive sensory journey.

As part of its commitment to educational initiatives, the library will host Umiverse, the official partner of the UNESCO Chair in Digital Technology, Education, and Disability. Umiverse will present its innovative programs to promote inclusive and creative learning for children and youth through workshops, cultural tours, and specialised consultations at the library.

Local and International Participations

The library is also preparing to host the second edition of Dubai International Library and Publishing Summit, under the theme The Future of the Publishing Industry, from 30 October to 1 November. The summit will feature: Over 80 speakers from 20 countries, 45 panel discussions, and 16 workshops. The library will also participate in GITEX Global under the Digital Dubai pavilion to showcase the latest in library technologies and digital innovation. It will also take part in the Frankfurt International Book Fair, one of the world's most leading publishing events.
