Amman, Sept. 15 (Petra) -- Director General of the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) Rana Obeidat has reaffirmed the agency's commitment to strengthening field inspections and boosting the effectiveness of food safety monitoring across the Kingdom.
In a statement released Monday, the JFDA said Obeidat met with inspectors from the Food and Regional Directorates to review operational challenges and align on regulatory priorities. She emphasized the importance of constructive cooperation with food business owners during field visits, noting that inspections are not merely punitive but serve a broader goal: protecting public health by ensuring safe, high-quality food reaches consumers.
She urged inspectors to maintain rigorous standards, ensure clear and accurate documentation of violations using official protocols, and uphold transparency in every step of the process. Obeidat also highlighted the value of closer collaboration with the Environmental Police, especially in areas involving risk assessment and emergency response.
The meeting comes as part of the Administration's ongoing efforts to support field teams, address obstacles on the ground, and ensure the JFDA continues to deliver on its mission to safeguard food security and consumer well-being.
