(MENAFN- Live Mint) US President Donald condemned the brutal beheading of Indian origin Chandra Nagamallaiah in Dallas, Texas, in a post on TRUTH social on Monday.

Trump said,“I am aware of the terrible reports regarding the murder of Chandra Nagamallaiah , a well respected person in Dallas, Texas, who was brutally beheaded, in front of his wife and son, by an ILLEGAL ALIEN from Cuba who should have never been in our Country.”

Trump said the accused was previously arrested for "terrible crimes, including child sex abuse , grand theft auto, and false imprisonment, but was released back into our Homeland under incompetent Joe Biden because Cuba did not want such an evil person in their Country."

The US president also assured strong action against the accused, saying,“The time for being soft on these Illegal Immigrant Criminals is OVER under my watch!”

"Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, Attorney General Pam Bondi, Border Czar Tom Homan, and many others in my Administration, are doing an incredible job in, MAKING AMERICA SAFE AGAIN," Trump said.

He added, "This criminal, who we have in custody, will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law. He will be charged with murder in the first degree!."

Chandra Nagamallaiah's beheading in Texas

Chandra Nagamallaiah, 50, was attacked with a machete outside the Downtown Suites motel in East Dallas in the early hours of September 10, according to local police.

The attack occurred in front of the victim's wife and child following what witnesses described as an argument. Witnesses at the scene described the attack as particularly brutal, with one telling local media that the suspect "chopped his head off" with a machete.

Dallas Police Executive Assistant Chief Terrence Rhodes confirmed that the victim suffered multiple wounds from "an edged weapon" but declined to provide further details about the ongoing investigation.

Yordanis Cobos-Martinez , 37, was charged with capital murder and remains in Dallas County Jail.

US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has placed a federal detainer on the Cuban national, who was in the country illegally.

As per court records, Cobos-Martinez had an extensive criminal background, including convictions for child sexual abuse, carjacking, false imprisonment and vehicle theft.

Despite a final removal order, he was released from ICE custody in January 2025 after Cuba declined to accept his repatriation.

"This gruesome, savage slaying was completely preventable if this criminal illegal alien had not been released because Cuba would not take him back," said Tricia McLaughlin, Assistant Secretary for Homeland Security.
