Sunflower fields in Jamrud tehsil have reached full bloom, marking a season of optimism and economic opportunity for local farmers. The golden flowers, creating a picturesque landscape, are expected to significantly boost farmers' incomes once sold in the market.

Farmers report that this year's sunflower heads have grown up to 13 inches in diameter, demonstrating that the region offers highly favorable conditions for the crop. Following hybrid maize, sunflower is now considered one of the most successful crops in Khyber district.

Farmers believe that if the government expands cultivation to more land in the coming years, the region could become self-sufficient in edible oil production.
