US Navy Jet Crashes During Training Mission Off Virginia Coast

WASHINGTON, Aug 21 (KUNA) -- An American Navy fighter jet (F/A-18E) crashed off the coast of Virginia during a routine training mission, a military spokesperson said Wednesday.
Navy spokesperson Jackie Parashar told CBS News the pilot safely ejected and was transported to hospital for evaluation.
The aircraft's wreckage has yet to be recovered, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause.
CBS reported this marks the sixth loss of a Super Hornet jet by the US Navy in the past ten months. (end)
