Ukraine's Special Operations Forces Strike Vehicle Of Russian General Abachev
According to the post, the operation was carried out by the UA_REG TEAM unit on the night of August 16-17, approximately five kilometers from the city of Rylsk in the Kursk region.
The strike targeted the vehicle of the deputy commander of Russia's Sever (North) Group of Forces, the statement said.
Preliminary reports indicate that Abachev sustained severe injuries, resulting in the amputation of his arm and leg. He was urgently airlifted to Moscow for treatment.

The SOF also recalled that in 2023, Ukrainian prosecutors submitted criminal charges against Abachev. Following Russia's full-scale invasion, he commanded the so-called "2nd Army Corps of the LNR People's Militia”"and directly issued orders to bomb and destroy settlements in the Luhansk region.
Earlier reports said that on the same night, Ukrainian forces conducted a strike on a Russian military convoy along the Rylsk-Khomutovka highway in the Kursk region, during which Abachev was critically wounded.
