Independence Day India: PM Modi at Red FortPreparations are underway at New Delhi's historic Red Fort, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to hoist the national flag and deliver his 12th consecutive address to the nation.
PM Modi will speak to the country from the ramparts of the iconic site. Across India, the national colours: saffron, white, and green, can be seen everywhere, from shop displays and street decorations to clothing and household items, creating a festive atmosphere nationwide.
PM Modi will be welcomed by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, and Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh upon his arrival at the Red Fort. The Defence Secretary will then introduce Lieutenant General Bhavnish Kumar, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Delhi Area, to the Prime Minister.

The view cutter at Gyanpath will prominently feature the Operation Sindoor logo, complemented by floral displays inspired by the mission.
Flying Officer Rashika Sharma will assist the Prime Minister in hoisting the national flag. Following the ceremony, two Mi-17 helicopters from the Indian Air Force, one bearing the national flag and the other the Operation Sindoor flag, will shower flower petals over the venue. The helicopters will be piloted by Wing Commander Vinay Poonia and Wing Commander Aditya Jaiswal.

Around 2,500 cadets from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, along with the volunteers, will be seated along Gyanpath, directly facing the Red Fort ramparts, collectively forming the 'Naya Bharat' logo.
This year's Independence Day event at the Red Fort will host approximately 5,000 special guests from diverse backgrounds. Among them are members of India's Special Olympics 2025 contingent, international sports champions, gold medalists from the Khelo India Para Games, and top-performing farmers who have received training and financial support under the National Beekeeping and Honey Mission.
