GFJTU Condemns Netanyahu's Greater Israel Remarks

Amman, Aug 13 (Petra) – The General Federation of Jordanian Trade Unions (GFJTU) on Wednesday described Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's provocative statements about a so-called "Greater Israel," which allegedly includes Palestinian territories as well as parts of Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Egypt, as mere illusions and a desperate attempt to undermine Jordan's national sovereignty.
In a statement, GFJTU President Khaled Al-Fanatsah said the claims constitute a direct threat to national security but stressed that they will not compromise Jordan's resilience or sovereignty, noting the country is led by a wise Hashemite leadership, backed by a strong army and a populace ready to respond to threats.
"Every inch of Jordanian soil is a red line. Any project aimed at resolving the Palestinian issue by force or displacing Palestinians will face total rejection from all Jordanian workers and citizens," he said.
Al-Fanatsah added that Jordan's positions, under its Hashemite leadership, have consistently opposed expansionist projects and reiterated His Majesty King Abdullah II's repeated rejection of any schemes that impose solutions at Jordan's expense or undermine the Palestinian cause.
The GFJTU emphasized that Netanyahu's statements reflect the aggressive, expansionist mentality of the Zionist project since its inception and are aimed at reviving territorial ambitions in the region.
"The harmony between public and official stances in Jordan serves as a safeguard for national security. Any attempt to impose a new reality at Jordan's or Palestine's expense will crash against the rock of national will, which cannot be breached," the GFJTU said, highlighting that Jordanian workers have always stood firmly behind their homeland and Hashemite leadership.
