India, Australia Discuss Disarmament, Non-Prolifiration, Export Control


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) NEW DELHI, Aug 12 (KUNA) -- India and Australia discussed on Tuesday, disarmament and the prevention of nuclear, chemical, and biological proliferation in New Delhi.
A statement from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs said that India and Australia held the seventh round of the India-Australia Dialogue on Disarmament, Non-Proliferation, and Export Control.
The talks addressed issues related to outer space security, conventional weapons, including the use of artificial intelligence in the military domain and multilateral export control regimes.
The dialogue enhances mutual understanding and appreciation of national perspectives and global developments on non-proliferation and disarmament issues, which will contribute to the comprehensive strategic partnership between India and Australia.
The Indian delegation was led by Ms. Muanpuii Saiawi, Joint Secretary for Disarmament and International Security Affairs at the Ministry of External Affairs of India, while the Australian delegation was headed by Ms. Vanessa Wood, Ambassador for Arms Control and Counter-Proliferation at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
