Amman, Aug. 10 (Petra) – The Electricity Distribution Company (EDCO) said Sunday it will not cut power to any customer over unpaid bills during the ongoing extreme heatwave in the Kingdom.
The company said the decision reflects its social responsibility and commitment to customer comfort, urging subscribers to settle outstanding dues and benefit from current payment facilities to avoid service cuts once normal policy resumes in line with Energy and Mineral Resources Regulatory Commission rules. It called on customers in its service areas Karak, Tafileh, Ma'an, Aqaba, the Jordan Valley, and eastern regions to immediately report any unjustified outages via the Hotline (113) for swift response.
The company stressed that technical teams remain on standby around the clock to address overload-related faults during the heatwave, and urged the public to rationalize electricity use to ease pressure on the grid.
