UAE: Bakery Shut Down For Violating Food Safety Laws
A bakery has been shut down in Abu Dhabi over food safety concerns.
The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) on Thursday, August 7, said that it had decided to "administratively close" Egyptian Bakery, a long-running establishment in the Al Nahyan neighbourhood in Abu Dhabi.
Recommended For YouThe authority said that it found "repeated food safety violations", and that despite warnings, the bakery did not implement any corrective measures. ADAFSA has closed the bakery to "safeguard consumer health".

Earlier this week, the authority closed a grocery store located in Khajur Tola for violating safety laws. A closure order was given on Monday after the store failed to implement corrections after warnings given during routine checks.
ADAFSA regularly conducts inspections of any establishment that handles food items, to ensure that food safety laws are being followed. The authority urges residents to report any violations on their toll-free number 800555.
