Kuwait’s Finance Minister Steps Down, Emir Approves
(MENAFN) The Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, has formally accepted the resignation of Finance Minister Nora Al-Fassam, according to a statement released Monday by a local news agency.
In a swift move, an additional Emiri decree named Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, Subaih Abdulaziz Abdul Mohsen Al-Mukhaizeem, as the acting Finance Minister while he continues to oversee his current portfolio.
No explanation was provided in the report for the sudden departure of the finance minister.
Al-Fassam had been appointed to the Finance Ministry as well as Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment in the cabinet formed by Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah earlier in 2024.
