Palestine Condemns Israeli Occupation Calls To Annex West Bank

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RAMALLAH, July 23 (KUNA) -- The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned on Wednesday recent Israeli occupation Knesset statements and proposals calling for the imposition of Israeli occupation sovereignty over the occupied West Bank.
In a statement, the ministry described these actions as colonialist and part of ongoing efforts to expand settlements and deepen annexation, which it said amount to establishing an apartheid regime in occupied Palestine.
It criticized the moves as a violation of UN resolutions and the International Court of Justice's advisory opinion, further undermining prospects for a two-state solution following the Knesset's rejection of a Palestinian state.
The ministry urged the international community to respond seriously, condemn these actions, and take immediate steps to halt them ahead of the upcoming UN conference on the two-state solution.
The Knesset is set to vote Wednesday on a symbolic, non-binding annexation proposal. (end)
