UAE Rulers Offer Condolences To Saudi King On Death Of Prince Alwaleed

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a message of condolences to Saudi Arabia's King Salman over the death of Prince Alwaleed bin Khalid bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud .

Other UAE leaders have also expressed their sympathies.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice-President and Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and Chairman of the Presidential Court, wrote their condolences to the Saudi king.

Similar condolences messages were also sent by the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, including Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi of Sharjah, Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi of Ajman, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi of Fujairah, Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla of Umm Al Qaiwain, and Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi of Ras Al Khaimah.

The Crown Princes and Deputy Rulers of the Emirates also dispatched messages of condolences the Saudi King.

Prince Alwaleed, known as the 'Sleeping Prince' , was pronounced dead by the Saudi Royal Court on Saturday after he spent nearly 20 years in a coma.

After a car accident in 2005, the prince-born in 1990-suffered a brain haemorrhage and had remained in a coma ever since, as his father, Prince Khaled bin Talal, held firmly to the hope of a miraculous recovery.

Funeral prayers for the late prince were held on Sunday after Asr prayer at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh, where his father Prince Khalid and his uncle-Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, the renowned Saudi businessman-stood in the front row among the worshippers.
